Ten Things To Help - When The ‘Going Gets Tough’

1 Treat Yourself:
Give yourself short-term targets and promise yourself small rewards when you reach them, like...
A) A night out
B) New Underwear
C) Perfume
D) Bottle of wine. Low-calorie or shared, of course!

2 Weekly weigh-in:
Stay off the scales and only weigh in once at your weekly online weigh in

3) Jot it down:
Carry a notebook and jot down everything you eat or drink including the nibbles.

4) Photo-call:
Ask someone you trust to photograph you at your fattest in your swimsuit. When your willpower starts to fade take a long look at it. Also as you start to shrink you will see a favourable difference.

5) Pin-up:
Find a photograph or poster of a celebrity whose figure you really admire and pin it up somewhere you can see it regularly to inspire you.

6) Leftovers:
Stick a sign by the sink in the kitchen saying ‘BIN IT’. Scrape ALL leftovers into the bin immediately after the meal when you are still full from the meal.

7) Small portions:
Try asking for smaller portions when you’re at a friend’s house or restaurant. Of course, you will naturally be serving yourself smaller portions.

8) Slim into it:
Choose any outfit that you’ve loved but which is now too small and try it on. Then try it again in a month’s time and then another month until it fits!

9) Aim to save:
Dream about how you will celebrate reaching your target weight
A visit to a beauty salon? A piece of jewellery?
A weekend away? A new bike?
If you can start saving now toward that celebration, every bag of crisps, every chocolate bar you don’t buy can mean more money in the kitty. Seeing the savings grow as you slim acts as a further incentive to reach your goal.

10) I want to do it:
Remind yourself constantly of your aim to be slim. Tell yourself, not just wistfully in bed at night, but in the kitchen as you prepare your meal, at the table as you sit down to eat it. That you WANT TO DO IT and that you are GOING TO DO IT and that you are GOING TO SUCCEED!!
