Passing the Buck

Remember the saying ‘‘The Buck stops Here’‘!! Well, have ever tried to use one of the following as a reason for not dieting?

 The Age Buck

‘You can’t teach an old dog new tricks’. But you can! You probably think you’re too old to change your eating habits, but this is definitely not the case. You are only as old as you feel and losing weight will not only make you look younger but you’ll feel fitter too. You might feel that change is a little bit risky, but are you happy with the way you look now? NO! Then one of our diets, with our healthy eating plan, should bring improvement and all you are risking is the chance to look and feel better! You’re never too old to take control of your health and fitness.

The Low Self-Esteem Buck

It’s too much like hard work and I’m not worth all that effort! It’s not hard work, you can do it with our help and some planning, and you are definitely worth it. You must value yourself otherwise we can’t really expect other people to treat us with respect. This doesn’t mean being selfish, but you are as important as other people. Think positively about yourself, it is worth the effort to change those things that are keeping you overweight, and as you lose weight you’ll be so pleased with the new you that your self-esteem will improve naturally.

The Family Buck

All my family are big, so how can I expect to be different! This really isn’t true. Have you ever looked at members in your family to see their eating habits? Often eating habits are inherited from our mothers. She used to cook using high calorie methods and these were passed down to you. Perhaps all your family eat larger than average meals, and mother encouraged you to eat everything up on your plate. Looking for the reasons as to why you are overweight will help you to avoid these pitfalls in the future. By following our diets you will learn healthy eating and cooking methods, perhaps you’ll be able to persuade other members of your family suit.

The Forgetful Buck

‘‘I’m so forgetful, I can never remember what my diet booklet says ’’. Giving yourself this excuse puts you quickly into the daft category. You hope you will be excused from success because you can’t help yourself. Perhaps you also think that by being a bit fluffy in the head you will be more appealing. Well, you won’t. There are plenty of ways to improve your memory. Wanting to get slim and fit will help your memory wonderfully. If you want to lose weight, you’ll read your diet booklet, and keep it handy, so that if you’re not sure about something, you can quickly refer to it. When you forget it, you just give yourself permission to fail.

The Expensive Buck

‘‘I just can’t afford to go on a diet ’’. Rubbish, our diets aren’t going to add pounds to your weekly food bill. It’s food you’ve wasted money on in the past, that has made you fat, our diets are made up of good healthy meals, with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, and those aren’t expensive, are they? By the time you’ve cut out the biscuits, chocolate, crisps etc. You’ll be pounds better off, money pounds and weight pounds. So visit your local supermarket, and see what unusual fruit and vegetables they have on offer, you can’t do better than that for your health and figure.

The Love Buck

‘‘My husband loves me just the way I am ’’. Your husband could be a bit muddled here and not want to offend you. Some women get very upset when their husband query their size, the poor old husband doesn’t know whether to say ’’ You look fine the way you are ’’ or help support you while you’re on your diet. He’s not going to stop loving you if you slim down, in fact he’ll be very pleased and proud of your efforts
