Take a Good Look at Yourself
Stand in front of the mirror and take a critical look at yourself. Let's put the diet to one side for a moment! Take a look at your body, starting with your feet. Do look after them? Are you squeezing them into uncomfortable fashion shoes? Do you slouch unattractively around in a comfortable pair of old slippers? Let’s go higher, your legs. Are you wearing tights? What denier are they? Make the most of your legs, choose a shade that looks good, goes with your clothes, and make sure you have the right size. If they are too small, they will be uncomfortable round the waist not to mention the crutch! And higher......... Your skirt length. How tall are you? Skirts that finish just below the knee look the best whatever height you are, especially when you are wearing sheer tights and classic court shoes. Your hips. Have you got what used to be called "good breeding hips"? Stay away from flared or pleated skirts, stick to plain straight or A line. Your waist. Where is it now? The old way used to be to put the tape measure under your arms, and slide it down to the narrowest point and that was your waist! Some people have a high waist, so your waist is where ever it feels it should be. If you don't go in at the waist don't try to! What you force into the waist band will only come over the top and make your midrift even bigger than it is. Your bust. Make sure your bra fits. Don't be embarrassed to have a larger bra if you need it. Don't squeeze your bust into a smaller size. Like the waist they will spill over the top and think what could happen when running for the bus! Your arms, hands, and nails. Do you carry weight on your upper arms? If so, cover them up and during the winter tone them up. Keep your hands soft and smooth by using a good quality hand cream regularly. If you don't have time to manicure and paint your nails as often as you would like, then keep them short and buff them every day. Your face. Do you wear make-up? Every day or just when you are going out somewhere special? Make your face up every day, so that is becomes natural to do so. The more you practice the better it will look. Dress sense. Admit it, just because you like it, it doesn't mean it will suit you! Be critical, go for a casual classy look, rather than the fashion of today. That will come when you’re slim. We all know someone that always looks great no matter what they wear, but look at what they wear, is it a baggy jumper and old jeans? No they don't, it's more likely to be smart trousers and a nice top. So the moment is over and you’re thinking about your diet again. The idea is to look good and make the most of yourself. Just imagine how you feel when someone knocks your door and you have to open it looking like you've just rolled out of bed. Looking forward to the day and looking your best will help you with your diet. We all feel better when we look better. So come on ladies, knock em for six!!!! |
