Are You A Calorie Squanderer?

Waste calories and you may get a nasty unexpected weight gain!

  1. Do you help yourself to another slice of toast, just so that you can neatly finish off that last teaspoonful of marmalade and therefore get rid of the sticky jar?

  2. Do you always use skimmed milk in your tea or coffee?  If you don’t, change to skimmed, you won’t notice the difference after a few days and the calories you save will be well worth the change.

  3. Do you eat whilst reading a book or magazine?  If you do, you won’t be aware of what you’re eating and the food will be gone before you realise it!  This could leave you still feeling hungry, with hours to go before you next meal.

  4. Do you gather up the little trimmings of pastry from the family pie and make a jam tart especially for you?  That jam tart will cost you at least 200 calories, be brave and throw the trimmings in the bin!

  5. Do you drink that extra glass of wine just to finish off the bottle!  Another 100 calories!

  6. Do you almost double the calories in your gin or whisky by using ordinary mixer?   Ensure you are always fully stocked with slim line drinks.

  7. Do you say an automatic ‘yes please’ when the waiter offers to pour more cream on a slice of gateaux  that you have allowed for out of your treats?  You don’t need the extra cream!

  8. Do you grab a snack and eat it standing up when you are in a hurry?  The food eaten this way is rarely enjoyed and often scarcely noticed.

  9. Do you eat the crusts you cut off toast and sandwiches or even eat children’s leftover crusts?  Do not swallow any calories in the cause of tidying up!

  10. Do you butter your toast before you grill any cheese on the top?  With a food as fatty as cheese, you would not miss extra butter calories.

  11. Do you pile up a sandwich with more cheese than what you need only because you grated too much accidentally?

  12. Do you eat before you go out, just in case you get hungry when you arrive at your destination?

  13. Do you pour cream in your coffee when you would just as soon have milk?  Never hesitate to save about 50 calories per cup simply by asking the waiter to bring milk instead.
