Slimming Habits To Keep Forever

  1. Use skimmed or semi skimmed milk at all times, you are thereby reducing your fat intake.
  2. Buy a margarine high in polyunsaturates and use polyunsaturated vegetables oil for cooking, the main benefit being margarine can be spread much more thinly than butter therefore you   use much less and also the ongoing health benefit.  If however, you enjoy butter and can   control the quantity carefully it is possible to continue with butter
  3. Use herbs instead of salt in cooking and put only pepper on the table.  If you can't do without salt why not put on the table and sprinkle it over your dinner instead of using large quantities in the cooking process.
  4. Change to wholemeal bread, it isn't less fattening but it is much better for us as it contains more fibre.
  5. Eat more fresh fruit and vegetables and less packaged food to avoid hidden salt, sugar and fat.
  6. Cut down on sugary foods and drinks, they contain very little in the way of nutrients just empty calories which is one of the main culprits for excess weight.
  7. Take some form of exercise.
  8. Don't over-cook vegetables, it destroys their vitamin content.
