Picking v DietingMany dieters find their own particular 'downfall' is picking. The meals they eat are carefully planned to fit in with the dieting day but it's the in-between times that ruin the diet. If we are talking about you, why not try what one member did, who admitted picking was her problem but didn't think she did it enough for her to gain weight, she thought it may have been enough to cause her to stay the same?? (heard that one before) So she got a large plastic box (with lid) and instead of eating these "forgotten calories" she put EVERYTHING the next week into the box instead of her mouth! There's no other word for it, it was horrible!! For a start the box wasn't BIG enough!! The contents were revolting, there was the crust from the children's sandwiches (why do we cut them off - maybe it was a dieter's idea in the first place)!! A finger of a kit-kat and the wrapper, when she couldn't resist them she put the wrapper's in because she was honest. Peering closer still, we saw potatoes, which had been left on her husbands plate which she would have usually scoffed as she cleared away a pudding complete with custard. Three Rich Tea from various times during the week as well as some soggy crisps!! We can see you're getting the picture - and this was only the food we recognized - the container was full. BUT the following week when she was weighed - yes, you've guessed it - she had lost an amazing 3lbs well not so amazing when it was sitting next to her in the container while she was being weighed. So, if you are one of lifes' 'pickers' own up to it, you needn't keep it up for the week but write everything down as you go to pop it in your mouth - it could stop you from doing just that!! |
