How about taking the children to the park, go fruit picking, when was the last time you went swimming? Head for the seaside - have a picnic at a local beauty spot - YOU plan the food to take!
How about some decorating - all that exercise will only help. Visit relatives you haven't seen for years, go to the library, visit a museum, go shopping for a small (not food) treat to reward yourself with for dieting! Go to a health club, have a sauna, a massage or facial or any other pampering treatment that you fancy in readiness for.........
A SPECIAL MEAL
Plan to have a special meal as a highlight to your weekend. Treat yourself and your family. You could of course go to your favourite restaurant but you will need to have saved some calories because as you know it is very unlikely for perfect dieting to take place there!
A better idea is to have your favourite foods that are allowed on the diet. Things that are perhaps a little too expensive too have too regularly. Fillet steak, fresh pineapple, king prawns, smoked salmon, strawberries (out of season) etc. etc. You all have your own particular favourites, planning is the secret, so that you can enjoy a beautiful meal that is still within the bounds of a reducing diet. Just think how you pass comments about the stars like Elizabeth Taylor being able to diet just because someone prepares the food for her - she eats the right sort of food beautifully prepared. Well, YOU have the time at the weekend - spoil yourself!
Saturday Shopping
If Saturday is the only time you have to do the weekly shopping and you really can't persuade anyone else to do it for you, make a list and STICK to it! Don't wander up and down the aisles and most importantly DON'T SHOP when you are hungry.
Save your calories for the weekend if you are likely to need them - most of you DO. Then you can have some extra cheats with a clear conscience that you are not spoiling your weight loss. Think about it like that, not just spoiling your DIET but actually destroying your WEIGHT LOSS!
Don't skip breakfast - make it into a leisurely affair by setting the table properly and really enjoy the meal. You may well find that you don't need LUNCH! If you skip breakfast and you are out at lunch time you will be very hungry and tempted to go over the top and wreck the diet.
Remember there are seven days in a dieting week.
If you are excellent for two, reasonable for two, cheat a bit too much for two and eat like mad for one! The result at your weigh-in at the end of the week will be STAYED THE SAME at best!
