Cheese and Chive Scone

Makes 10120 calories each9oz self raising flour

  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • 3 1/2 oz Philadelphia light
  • 2 tbsp chopped chives
  • 100ml skimmed milk
  • 2oz low fat grated cheese
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt


Method

Sift flour, mustard, cayenne and salt into a mixing bowl.  Add Philadelphia to the mixture and mix.  Add chives.  Make a well in the centre of the mixture and gradually pour milk.  Stir always until the mixture forms a dough.  Roll out on a floured surface 3/4” thickness and make scones with 2” round pastry cutters.  Brush with milk and bake at 200C/400F/Gas 6.  For a sweet variety replace with 3oz currants.
