Letter From Carol  From Our Blackheath Class

We would like to thank Carol who attends our Blackheath class for this very moving  letter that she has been kind enough to send to us and to send her our very warmest wishes for the future together with our congratulations on her success.

I would like to thank Super Slim Slimming Club for helping me.
In recent years I have had a few operations.  One being a full abdominal hysterectomy.  I was left with my ovaries to help my body go through a more natural change.  Then four years later the bottom dropped out of my world when I was diagnosed as having breast cancer.  Due to the nature of my particular cancer I have had a course of radiotherapy treatment designed to prolong my life.  I have had some surgery, though not a mastectomy.  As you can imagine, this had been a traumatic experience and something we always think happens to someone else.  The specialist had then got to get rid of my ovaries, even though the cancer was in my breast and this they did also with radiotherapy treatment which can have one or two nasty side effects.
Now trying to cope and get over this, the removal of my ovaries made me go straight into a quick 'change'.  Hot flushes and sleepless nights were just two of the may things I was trying to cope with now.  I couldn't have any H.R.T. because of the cancer.  On top of all this worry I started to gain weight. Ugh!! I thought, as I'd always been a slim person.
Now my friend at work, who has lost a tremendous amount of weight, told me about Super Slim Slimming Club.  I must admit, I was a a bit apprehensive to join as I love food so much and the thought of starving myself to lose weight didn't seem like a good idea at all.  Anyway I joined and I must confess it's the best thing I've done in a long time.
I listened with great interest to Maureen's lectures and I've learned such a lot about food.  I chose the protein diet.  By doing exactly what Maureen advised me to do, I got to target in just over nine weeks by losing one and a half stone and did I starve myself to do it? NO!! I never went hungry at all.  I had three good meals every day and I still do but now I'm at target I have quite a few 'treats' as well.  I feel and look like a new woman and I'm determined to stay like it.  I hope I haven't bored you too much with my medical past, but I've told you this as a sign of encouragement.  Think positive what you want to do, and what you want to look like.  I couldn't have done it without Super Slim and Maureen to whom I am very grateful.
